Where to Drink
The Best After-Party Spots in Los Angeles
Long after the night is over for most, these after-party spots in LA are still thumping.
It's 2 am in Los Angeles. You have probably had the best night ever, and you don't want it to be over yet. But where to from here? You and your crew have been walking around for 20 minutes, caved in to buy a hot street dog, and then ended up returning home, not completely satisfied, and still wanting more.
If this is how most of your night outs go, keep reading.
Although LA doesn't boast 6 or 7 am closing times like Manhattan or Barcelona, there's a mix of clubs and after-party venues where you can continue partying the night away. These nightclubs go past 2 am so if you are not in the mood to bar hop tonight, we're going to leave you with some options:
Avalon in Hollywood is a perfect place to keep the party going until the early hours of the morning. You can expect the party to run until 3–4 am on Friday and Saturday nights as DJs load their Serato with the hottest EDM songs.
On Saturdays, Bardot, the bar upstairs is open until 6–7 am for the tireless maniacs who would not let the lack of sleep impede the release of their inner party animal. There is a discounted guest list at Avalon Bardot, which is normally nice all night. Book a bottle of service at Avalon for the first half of the night, and then rage hard in the second half. You're going to go home exhausted and totally happy.
Exchange in downtown LA is another EDM club that often has Saturday night sets going past the standard 2 am cut-off time. This is the mecca of electronic dance music in Los Angeles, so you don't want to miss it. Get your friends together and enjoy the spectacular light shows and bass drops as you hop up and down from your mezzanine seat. Trade has a discounted guest list. If you feel the itch to join the rest of the Exchangers down on the floor, dance your way down the stairs and hop as Hardwell told you to.
Los Globos in Silver Lake is a genuine after-hour gem. The club starts at 2 am and goes until 6 am on weekdays and until 8 am on weekends. DJs primarily play techno, electro and house. The cover is 20 bucks. If you just want to have the best time and make sure that you and your buddies are taken care of, make sure you get the bottle service. Once inside, there are two levels, upstairs and floor level. Entry is charged separately, so we suggest the floor level (there is a door under the DJ booth that allows you to access the stairs to get to the upstairs). The floor level has a younger crowd, while upstairs appears to have an older clientele. Everyone who comes here is coming to dance and have a good time, so long as you're coming with the same vibe, you will have a blast.
Sound in Hollywood is another excellent place after hours. It's a regular nightclub that attracts some of the best House DJs, but often it also happens to have a special evening party after hours. Sound has three bars and a designated smoking area outside if you need some fresh air. They also have a discounted guestlist for Tone. They have recently renovated their ceiling in order to have moving decorations that create an extra triptych experience.
