A Dance of Cognac and Coffee

A fifth-generation producer creates the distinct VSOP Cognac blended with premium Ecuadorian 100% Robusta coffee beans in France.

An innovative take on an 18th-century French tradition and a homage to a legendary New Orleans cocktail, Grand Brulot French VSOP Cognac Café is the exquisite result when VSOP Cognac, Ecuadorian coffee, and a touch of lore, are seamlessly blended together.

The cognac in Grand Brulot is a craft distilled, single-estate, 80 proof VSOP produced by 6th Generation Cellar Master Christoph Tardy and aged for at least 4-5 years in Limousin or Allier Oak casks.  The coffee used hails from Ecuador and the essence of Robusta coffee beans is married to French Brandy before joining the VSOP Cognac in French oak casks to blend. The result is an impeccably smooth, full-bodied Cognac Café, with notes of nutmeg and vanilla enveloped by the aroma of honey.

From sipping it on its own as an aperitif or digestif, to using it as a main ingredient in our favorite cocktails, Grand Brulot is as versatile as it is unique and decadent. We wake up the classics and many exquisite cocktails made possible by this marriage of cognac and coffee, and the caffeine content of an espresso in every shot. Cheers!

Grand Brulot

Grand Brulot VSOP Cognac & Cafe won 88 points, a silver medal at the 2020 Bartenders Spirits Awards where leading bartenders bring you the best spirits you can consume at bars in the USA.

These are hand-crafted by the Tardy family on their estate in the Cognac region of France. Cellar master Christoph Tardy—a fifth-generation Cognac producer—meticulously selects the finest ‘eaux de vie’ to craft a unique VSOP Cognac which is blended with premium Ecuadorean 100% Robusta coffee beans selected for their concentrated richness. The blend is then aged in French oak barrels to allow the melding of flavor notes over time. Every drink of this fine VSOP Cognac Café includes the equivalent caffeine as a shot of espresso.

This uniquely dry and smooth blend of VSOP cognac and coffee delivers flavor notes of nutmeg & vanilla with subtle honey aroma, combined with rich, roasted, dark & dense nose and flavor from 100% Robusta Espresso.
